Because Ebola has not the potential to become a worldwide pandemic problem. It kills the hosts too quickly. SARS is spreading around the world because 95% survive.

SARS is a concern because it can spread easily. It's not about the fact that hundreds of people die from car accidents, or that regular flu kill thousands every year. SARS is a major threat right now and the CDC is concerned. If they are concerned, so am I.

Oooh. Also. 10 to 20% of people infected with SARS will need a ventilator to survive. Wich means that if the health care system is on the brink of collapse, I hope you have a fonctionning ventilator at home.

I don't think we need to worry. But the problem is, if you ask if it's 100% safe, they can't guarantee it. I wouldn't want to be in Toronto right now. With the "super spreaders" possibility even if the risk is limited. Why take that risk? Thousands of people are under quarantine.

Nah, I'm more worried of visiting her since she deals with 100+ patients per day in the GTA area. Besides, those who have died have all had close contact with a patient or have travelled to hot zones. I'm not too worried *yet*.
