Platinum SEO, All-In-One, WPSEO do nothing what can't be done by means of simple tuning of your WP theme. So you can easily do by yourself everything that those plugins do and even more.
Why you have to alter the WP theme if you can simple install one of All-In-One clones and set its options as you need? The answer is more than obvious: all these plugins work in runtime mode. This means that they change your blog's content on the fly every time when someone opens it in browser.
These "on the fly" changes generate multiple queries to WP database. You don't have to be a professor of higher mathematics to understand that these plugins will additionaly load your server's hardware and make your blog load slower. As far as you may know, lower loading speed => lesser Google rating.
Hope my post can be estimated the one of "those days of GFY being a place where you could ask questions and actually get useful answers".
Have a nice day everyone!Last edited by just a punk; 05-17-2010, 02:55 AM.Obey the CowgodComment

So would a cache plug-in be beneficial for this then?Platinum SEO, All-In-One, WPSEO do nothing what can't be done by means of simple tuning of your WP theme. So you can easily do by yourself everything that those plugins do and even more.

Of course it will help, but it also has some restrictions and nuances. For example what if your splog or WP tube has 50K posts and some SE spider would like to crawl it? First of all, all caching plugins are also use additional hardware resources to cache your pages for a first time. Also they do re-cache your blog's content after some time interval etc.Obey the CowgodComment
