Apple is still not budging on having porn content on the iPhone because they have a "moral responsibility" to their consumers. If that didn't sound like corporate b.s. to you then you're an Apple zombie. If they were so damn adamant on not having porn on their products, why did they relent on having porn in their iPad?

LOS ANGELES ? Adult operators hoping for a thaw in iTunes content policies will find no encouragement as Apple's Steve Jobs reportedly states his belief that the company has a "moral responsibility to keep porn off the iPhone."

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has recently been responding to customer complaints over the company's perceived role as content censor ? a situation made more troubling by its tight control of the primary content distribution mechanism for its popular i-Platforms.

Previously, Jobs made headlines for referring adult consumers to the competitive Android platform for their mobile porn fix, when after an iPhone developer event he commented, "You know, there's a porn store for Android. You can download nothing but porn."

"You can download porn, your kids can download porn," Jobs opined. "That's a place we don't want to go ? so we're not going to go there."

Well, it's their software and/or applications, so ultimately it's their rules.

what he said. Given the two are controlled by the same app store, I doubt they'd accept stuff for one and not the other.

I can understand their stance on porn, which is fine as it's actually a selling point for parents buying an iphone for their kiddies. However, given the app store requires credit card validation, and sends receipts even for free apps, then daddy or mummy would still know bad boy teenager was looking at pron on his innocent telephone....

and in any case, why invest in app-development for your sites? All this could benefit is app developers, since for networks, all you need to do is make your members area cell-phone aware and offer content direct to cell phone users.

Hell, if I was going to get membership to a network, I'd snap up one that was delivering full downloadable content when I was on a desktop, and f4v streaming when I was on an iphone. You don't need an app for that....

I bought my Apple shares in 2008. If only I'd been there in 1997!
