WindowsMedia.com?

Everytime I click on a link to a wmv file from my browser a frame is launched opening up to windowsmedia.com which launches an embedded player to play the video. WTF? I've got mediaplayer V8 for XP installed on my computer as the default media player. How the fuck do I make it topen the video instead of launching it through windowsmedia.com. BTW this happens regardless of what version of windowsmediaencoder was used for the video.
