HELP ASAP

I have a virus W32.magistr-24876@mm I do own anti virus Nortons soft ware , But because I dont have it loaded on my machine full time It wont let me download and use the fix ? It say Im not regesterd ? I will be days waiting for them to help me , dose someone have a patch for this , or know where to find it ? Please help me , as I cant do much with this virus running.

http://www.symantec.com and run their online virus scan and follow their directions for patches and repairs.

Then kick yourself in the *ss for not running AV all the time.

yeah I did that , but because Im not regesterd with My copy I cant make the download work , and I cant load my version and regester it because the virus wont let me ? Its the old catch 22

Don't know if this will help you or not as there is not much info on removal on the net other than the anti virus programs.

Manual Removal

If your PC is infected and anti-virus software is unable to remove it you can remove it manually. This should only be attempted by users with sufficient expertise. If unsure whether you can, don't do it. Call the CCS Help Desk at extension 6806.

Steps:

Remove the WG-SKYF.DAT file in the WINDOWS directory.


Remove the virus created registry key: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run \AppName (varies)=C: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\(App).EXE (varies)

Norton has *free* removal tools etc for most virus probs. No registration req'd. You just have to hunt it up in the virus areas.
