    Lest we forget

Just wanted to take a moment to remember the 34 US soldiers killed and the 171 injured during the sustained attack that disabled the USS Liberty

Here's hoping that one day congress will investigate this tragic incident so that the American families can get closure 'Just an accident' isn't enough, as the former US secretary of state put it:

...Their sustained attack to disable and sink Liberty precluded an assault by accident or some trigger-happy local commander. Through diplomatic channels we refused to accept their explanations. I didn't believe them then, and I don't believe them to this day. The attack was outrageous.
Does the death of 34 American soldiers not warrant an investigation? Weird that congress wouldn't investigate an attack on one of their ships, isn't it?

Lots of people care about soldiers getting killed, but posting about it here isn't some sort of higher moral validation of soldier death awareness level, nor does it "support" them in any way.
Want lots of people to raise their flags and chime in on the subject? Try a veteran's or active military support type site / blog. You'll get plenty.
