Need a Wordpress programmer

Hi, I am looking for a wordpress expert. I have a site that has the design already, but I need it to be in wordpress.

I currently have someone working on it but it's been over a month now and the site isn't even close to being done.

If you know a good programmer please recommend them.

If you're a wordpress programmer, please post some examples here, and if you could have 1-2 people to vouch for you here (sorry cant be too careful)

You need to be more specific. It sounds like you want a layout converted to a wp theme which should not be taking a month and does not really require a programmer.

PSD to wp-theme shouldn't be more than a few hundred bucks and 2 hours.

i should mention the site is quite complex (that's what my designer said when he made it for me). also it's for mainstream (not that it matter).

some of the things the site needs

-feature content slider edited through wp dashboard (similar to studio press themes)
-several colums, one column for the latest articles and the other column is for widgets i.e. lastest comments, top 5 posters, most popular articles, ad spot, (i.e. businessinsider.com)
-on the bottom just above the footer, shows the latest articles grouped by categories. (i.e. businessinsider.com)
-video
- user permissions for video content
- paid subscription option

is this something you guys can do?

yes it shouldnt take that long. im very disappointed in the current programmer..basically nothing got done.

oops i should also mention, moving the current site to a subfolder, and move the wp to the root folder. will also need to do some hardlinking to some pages in the subfolder. i would also need to install a mod (that i can buy) that will bridge WP to the old user database. this is extra cost that i expect to incur.

so it's not just converting psd to wordpress, you will need to know programming.

i know it wont be 175 but if anyone can do it around the ballpark 300-500 i would be ecstatic. i already wasted some money on the current programmer.

yes, it's quite complex. What you're looking for is not a WP theme, but a WP based CMS. Anyway, some answers regarding what we can do below:

well, we always charge 50% upfront and quite honestly, your budget is still lower than what we'd charge for this kind of project. I understand you already wasted some money and you might be frustrated, hence why we're willing to do it for less money, but I can't change both our regular conditions and prices after we've provided samples of full custom CMS work which I assume is pretty more complex that what you need (barring the video permission thing, which I still don't know what you mean), and for some reason you decided to choose another path. And this is not a question of trusting you or not, it's just our way of doing things.

If I let the upfront payment pass, everybody will have the right to ask for the same thing, and although most of our clients have no problems with payment, we've been fucked many times for a total of over $20000 throughout the years. Again, not saying you will do it, what I try to say is that it will leave the door open to further scammers.

Anyway, just send us the details so we can see the specifics, maybe there's something you're missing because even when it is complex, it's not super-mega-dooper complex, we do this kind of work on a daily basis.

In short, send me the info so I know what are we talking about If we can't do it, we'll tell you upfront, if we can, we'll tell you as well. And if we see there's some kind of issue, we'll tell you whether you use our services or not.
