also names can be used to help build traffic, protect a trademark, for seo and sem... to over generalize domainers is missing some of the legit uses of collecting names.

I just turned down an offer of 10K on a 3 word mainstream domain. We have thousands of domains but develop them as quick as we can. If an offer comes along on a domain that is too good to pass up we might sell. Flipping however isn't our business model.

Whoever's holding a name like PepsiPepsi.com is a fucking dumbass. Don't loop those people in with those of us that make a living selling domains. Just because you don't know how to find good available domains or good deals on the secondary market doesn't mean they're not out there. I bought one for a little over $300 last month that I sold 2 weeks later for $4,000, and it wasn't the first time I've had quick flips like that. I'd like to see someone do that with a stock, bond, currency trade, real estate, or other form of investment.
