    Linux users inside plz!

I ditched Windows lastnight after getting the most retarded spyware I think I ever seen... It opened an invisible IE window that just played sounds randomly throughout the day... Whacky!

Anyway, I ditched it to give Ubuntu a try.. I like Linux and feel comfortable in it, I just didn't really wanna give up Photoshop or Dreamweaver.

So the question is, what's a good alternative to Dreamweaver? A good syntax highlighting editor? I tried VIM but their site isn't loading, not in the repository, and apt-get install vim doesn't work.

Also any other badass applications I should get, go ahead and recommend.

HTML-Kit Tools is great alternative to Dreamweaver. Haven't tested it in Linux, but I believe it's supported there. PAINT.Net is an ok alternative to Photoshop, depending on what you need to do. Gimp is THE graphics proggie for Linux.

Mint is a pretty good distro if you'd like a nice Linux setup.

Yeah, I'm gonna use GiMP, hell talking with Angry Jew Cat, I may just install Windows into Linux sorta like Parrells or whatever in OS X to run Dreamweaver and Photoshop... Don't want too, because why use Linux if I'm just gonna use Windows inside of it, may as well just use Windows!

I guess what I'm looking for is a light weight, nice syntax highlighting editor maybe like Coda but for Linux instead of OS X. God I'd love to have Coda on Linux.

HTML-Kit Tools is definitely full featured and it has tons of plugins you can customize it with. VERY code-oriented, not a WSYWYG much at all. My bad though, it looks like it has to be run through WINE in Linux.

Try apt-get install vim-tiny (or vim-gtk if you want graphical).

You can run windows through virtualbox or vmware under linux. Just keep the windows disconnected from Internet (for extra security) and in full window mode you can't tell any difference.

Awesome, that worked, now just to get Apache2, PHP, MySQL and PHPMyAdmin working properly on this beast.
