Open source youtube type script?

I'm looking for an open source script that will enable me to embed youtube videos on my site. I want to pick the videos that I put on the site. Does anyone know of such a script?

I'm not using any CMS. I'm trying to figure out what would be the best script to use. This isn't for an adult project. I just need something to handle the embeds.

vidisript, phpmotion, lots of open source stuff. phpmotion is pretty huge and lots of customization available on forums and stuff. GL

if you just want a script you can place embed codes on your site, you shoudlnt really run a whole cms like vidiscript, or phpmotion.

Just use something that you can search for videos, and grab the embed codes, but if its a whole site you want to dedicate to yt vids i would use one of those cms'.

I myself would use wordpress (go figure)

I coded a wordpress plugin that uses youtubes api along with flash/actionscript so you can search via your post for youtube videos and automatically insert them into your post using a custom flash player, so it doesnt look like yt's normal flash player.

vidiscript is a pretty good one I used it for awhile and it has some nice social features and its free. You can also buy adon modules for it

What I want to do is kind of make a niche site that embeds youtube movies. To be honest, I never visited youtube much until recently. I just thought it was a bunch of shitty stuff all thrown together. To some extent it still is. I just have so much fun at that site. I want to make a site or sites that show the videos that I like to see. Also have the ability for users to comment and share their own favorite youtube videos. I'm a few years behind laughing at cats doing stupid shit. I'm sure enjoying it now. What a better way to waste time than to watch completely stupid shit?

Are there any free plugins or scripts that don't require one? Why free? While I must admit that I want to share the stupid videos I find off youtube. I don't want to spend any money doing so in the process. I guess I could just use wordpress. Though, I wish I could have a tube feel to the site.

Use wp, but use a tube theme. There is absolutely no reason why your wp install cant look like a full on tube.

thinking somthing you just point in the right direction and it does the conversion from some preset size, bitrate stuff

youtube allows mass uploading and i believe you can then download the resulting flv, just upload them as private.

or use ffmpeg , it comes standard on many hosts
