I have several WP themes with widgets already in the sidebars that I cannot edit or delete. In the widgets section, the sidebars are empty. How can you delete the pre-specified widgets?

Either go into your theme and edit them out manually from the sidebar.php or you may be able to add your first widget and it'll remove the rest.Your Paysite Partner

If you didn't not add any widgets, the default WP widgets will show.Comment

This looks like a good answer.
The first part (manual edit) is probably messy for the uninitiated but sure to work.
The second part looks more promising.
Right, if you manually add widgets, the default widgets might disappear.
Also, notice that some themes have several widget groups, top, bottom, left, right. I think they are called North, South, East West.
You might be editing one of the groups and have missed another group
Also check if there are settings for your theme, where you can optionally get rid of the widgets.- Email sfm-gfy at 18adultreviews.com to make extra $$ from generic Viagra sales

Manually editing the sidebar and adding your html/js/php is the best..
