PhPBB Forum Question and Help

Just wondering if anyone can see the forums and read them. Whenever I log out I am unable to view the forums and can't figure out how to fix that problem. I have even asked on the PhPBB and no one has been able to help me. Maybe it is just me. Anyway, LMK if you can see and read the discussion forums.

it's been a long time since I looked at phpbb but isn't it something as simple as a "permissions" setting for that particular forum or section? maybe I'm not understanding the problem though

Tried that but nothing works.

This started happening when I noticed that guests were all of a sudden able to register and post without admin approval. I think I deleted GUESTS as a group and recreated it and set permissions accordingly. They are currently set to view the forums but not post. I wish i didn't have to do that but the fucking bots have been unbelievable. I have almost NO LINKS to this site out there, except for the one in my sig file on this site, and I get 25 registrations requests every fucking day from bots.

I HONESTLY believe that spammers should not only be executed, but drawn and quartered, with no hanging in advance (it reduces the pain of the drawing and quartering). I am vehemently anti-death penalty (I'ma liberal), but would gladly make an exception for spammers.

try rebuilding your database and see what happens, maybe you have some glitch there. Check for groups and permissions. Do you mean that no one can see the forums or just guests are unable to see them? If so, maybe you might have set the forums as private or guests aren't allowed to see them. That's all I can think of without seeing it

it looks like his problem could have something to do with recreating the "guests" group, probably phpbb has some flag or something that makes "guests" a default group for actual guests that show up, and it isn't working the same when he manually created a new group called "Guests"... anyways that is my guess (not remembering phpbb at all specifically, I only use smf nowadays)
