It's an "upgrade" that really just fixes some security issues that can cause your site to get DOS'ed. I highly recommend updating.

I had no problems on 50+ blogs.

i upgraded and now i got a submit comment button that doesent work anymore with my theme. WTF? then i spent all night googleling wp-comments-post.php error with no luck.

ive tried all i can think of, even tried using an older versions of wp-comments-post.php comments.php comment.php comment-template.php to weed out the problem one by one

the button works on the default and classic themes, i`m thinking its something in the wp-includes folder.

check out the code, then edit it. it really is a peace of cake. then make a zip (tgz) archive and upload it to some of your sites for future installations.

btw, during the upgrade to this version, left admin panel sidebar disappeared from one of my blogs. that's why i never upgrade to the newest release at the very first moment.

I set up a totally clean domain install new blog for a mate yesterday having not touched WP for around 2 years. It took me 15 themes to get one that worked properly with 2.8.5 (and that's going from there extend page, which should have the very latest).

The discussion settings didn't bring up anything at all, so you couldn't turn off comments etc. Seemed to fix itself after about 10 refreshes.

Adding new themes, or trying to, just led to connection errors.

Buggy as fuck from the little I've seen.

They do have auto update.. takes less then a minute to do with a simple click
