Anyone ever think the more people who use the exact same blogging software, with the exact same plugins, with the exact same design (except the colors and header graphic are a bit different) are really being lazy?

I'd love to see some custom Wordpress sites that don't look like every other WP site posted on this board.
    Your post count means nothing.

The wp sites I run I try hard to keep them fresh and dynamic, not bland and like every other mopes sites. It doesn't always work, but I'm happy with results.

Most are customized premium wp themes, they are cheap and the functionality of them is exceptional, but also require many many hours of work to get them just how you want.

Here is 2 of many that I run, but these 2 are probably 2 of my favorites design wise. I hope they don't fit into the 'lazy' category of wp builders. It's certainly not difficult to get unique looking and functioning sites with WP, it just requires some imagination and time. Both are still 'in progress' but growing just fine.

              My tips:
              -Akismet is a MUST.
-Some type of Cache plugin=MUST(I suggest the most popular, WP Super Cache)
-Always keep SEO in mind. ALWAYS. Wordpress makes SEO soooo easy. Don't work against it.

                  Nice work!

Thats essentially what I do too..grab a free or premium theme that is closest to the layout I want..then mod the CSS stylesheet, change colors, background, fonts, sizes, add a custom logo, whatever plugins needed and if need be I add a div or 2 for extra content or ads and that usually covers it.
It's a huge time saver and frees me up to work on other things instead of slaving over a custom hand coded page.
