sad what has become of hip hop and rap these days!

happens to all types of music. Funk turned into disco, rock n' roll turned into hair metal, country turned into whatever you wanna call it etc... Once a new genre becomes popular it gets commercialized to the point where it's all just a big mess of people all sounding the same.

There was a certain sincerity in early hip hop. It was new so nobody thought it would make you rich. The artists just did it because they loved it and had a story to tell.
