    Mailer Expectations

We are in the process of sending out our first major mailer today, 1.4 mil addys, and are about half way through. What are people?s experiences with conversion ratios with mailers? So far we have 2780 uniques and about 180 free sign ups. I think this is good, but still a little uncertain.

I do mailings. Successful ROI depends on:

Do you offer content or is it just purely "offers"?

Did you test the HPA you will use?

Did these recipients have a recent history of clicking on offers?

Is your mail server set up so as to deliver to users' inboxes not "bulk mail" folders?

Do you scrub your list often?

I can?t answer any of your questions as a third party has done all of this for us. However it seems to be doing pretty well so I think we will probably be more aggressive to doing more mailers via 3rd party!
