Well its Africa, their lives depend on sales. What would you expect.

As for Marrakech, beautiful oriental city. Be sure to check out the Djemaa el Fna where all the souks are attached to.
We've been there in 2007 with the car, but I cannot recommend driving yourself there if you are not a good driver. You need to expect that people dont give a fuck about their cars and they might bump into you if you drive like you are expected to drive in Europe ;)
