not really a secret backdoor, it is published all over. btw that invite me page is taking people forever to get one, actually have not heard of a single person getting it via that invite. most everyone got their account from grancentral 2 years ago.

I use it... been using the # on my social profiles, people that purchase stuff, etc.. with a quick note, sms/text me and the #.

People seem to like it, makes it seem like they have a stronger connection to me directly.

Being in or out of the US is not a problem. There are several programs around which will fake your IP, at least good enough for G**gle to belive you're in the US and allow you to sign up. Works good for watching Youtube clips out of the country too, as well as accessing other sites which sorts its traffic based on IPs. Very convinient when out of the states.

As for G**gle Voice, sweet functions and really useful. I signed up as a developer and got my account right away, I assume if you apply for an invite today you'd have it in a few weeks. Know several persons who've been invited lately. Seems to ba a PR trick, to create some hype. Best used together with and Android powered phone, you can then call directly into the cell phone, even when I'm in Europe! Extremely useful as you can imagine.

It lets you do that for free when you sign up. The $10 fee is for changing your number.

1st is since the service was GrandCentral and 2nd just got it a few weeks back when GV opened officially
