    Windows ME question

    Hi all,

    I'm having a little trouble with windows ME and was hoping some of you guys could help me. I keep getting this little box that pops up when I try to play any type of media file ( and on any webpages with flash and some graphics ) that says " beta directdraw expired please update" I click ok then it pops up again. I click ok and again, it goes away and it all works fine. I've searched all over and can't find shit on how to update this so that will stop happening.

    any ideas?

      Try upgrading your directX drivers..

          I think that may be my problem but my direct x issues are another long and bitter story. . . I'm starting to dig deeper and deeper and have found out that I have newer stuff then they have on the direct x website ( a friend of mine works for intel and we were having some direct x issues with a game one night so we went to his work and got the newest direct x they had) the website has version 8.0a and my machine has 8.1 I've sent and email to him to see if he can either get me something else, or help me get the ver 8.1 off the system so I can install the 8.0a

              i think ME is the worst piece of crap ever created. i use win98SE. i wonder if win XP gonna be any good

                      I love the keyboard. . . and yeah I'm starting to realize that ME sucks. I guess it has a pretty big memory leak in it and they know about it but aren't going to fix it. . . among other problems as well. Hopefully XP will be better.

                          To fix the problem is simple really.

                          Install Win98SE.

                          Windows ME does SUCK.
