What makes the site more important then the other 350,000 websites just like it? Why should it rank above the others?

Does it have content that isn't readily available on other sites? Is it worth googles resources and time to cache, index, and display it for surfers?

Does the website have any trust associated with it, do other similar themed websites link to it? Do surfers enjoy it? Are people happy with the information on that site or leave it soon as they hit it?

There is a ton of reasons why they won't list you. You need to give them a reason to list you in the serps, too many other sites are showing why they deserve to be listed.

the main reason is that its an uncommon word, about the first 3 google pages are links to the site but the actual site isnt listed, I would have thought that the fact they rate it means it has some relevance to them

is there a reason they wouldnt list it, frames perhaps?

          about a year

also it uses google analytics, the average visitor time is 2 mins, not a lot I guess but its not like people just leave immediately either

Have you over optimised it for that keyword? If google thinks you're getting too clever it twats you down the rankings until it can trust you.

yeah, it has very few words and that word is used quite a large percentage of the total I guess, its hard to avoid but I could try if I knew it was the problem

it does have 3 or 4 sites with prs of 5 or so linking to it now

maybe it has a penalty on it. a site could have PR and still have a penalty. pr and serps are different things.

right, is it possible or worthwhile to find out or have it reviewed?
