Help With Email Program (Thunderbird and others)

What i need to do is WITHOUT responding to a received email, add the sender to my contact list.
I have thousands of emails that I have received (and NOT responded to) and I would like to add all the senders to my contact list. However, I would like to do this in the quickest and most efficient manner.

If you open the message, you can right click on the sender and "add to addressbook"

Not sure how you'd do this in a big batch.
