Maybe if you're as simple-minded as he is. It's amazing how you can change the meaning of a sentence if you leave some words off. The words he left off were "on GFY or even worse DP" which changes the entire meaning of the sentence. Obviously I was stating that GFY and DP are packed full of inaccurate information and people who take SEO seriously need to get their info from a reputable source.

Yea, you do have a point with the info on some of these forums, and some blogs for that matter. I was just glancing the thread and seen that quote and thought it was funny, no personal offense meant to anyone.

I said "business", not SEO.

At its best (which is rarely) this forum is a place where people do business. Part of that is being moderately helpful to competitors, which, nine times out of ten, has social and business benefits that FAR outweigh the tiny competitive edge someone might be "giving away".

Original poster has declared himself to be someone who does not understand this.

Anybody who publicly worries about "giving away" too much information about SEO has revealed himself to be an idiot. It's like worrying about giving away the secret to being a good writer, or a good musician. The techniques are useless except when married with enormous effort, practice, and craftsmanship.

Good point. Same point can be applied to success in business, or being a good photographer. Telling someone how to succeed in business, or how to be a great photographer, certainly doesn't make someone good in either of those. You'll accomplish it through your own efforts, if you have it in you.

all you need is a 50,000,000 page website built specifically for search engines, that pulls countless 1000's of back links each day pushing that inbound PR effectively throughout the site and it should be a site with no monetary ambitions... and nofollow all your outbound links if you have any. shouldn't take too long if you put in a couple extra hours a day.
