          Hey man,
I would say that they are things that you have to DO...."debes que hacer".

Go get yourself banged up in a Mexican jail for 6 and a half months...

Guess what? You'll understand Spanish when you come out!

BUT... After you get out... IE, in about a year. It wont make sense no more !

Nop... "cosas que tenés que hacer" would be the correct way, with "deber" (as in "duty" or "must") it's just "cosas que debes hacer". Overall, both ways have the same meaning.

Basically they're both things that you MUST DO AND YOU MUST BE but you're NOT OBLIGATED TO, I assume this is taken from a spanish course so some small examples would be: "Be nice to them" (Sé bueno con ellos), "Don't lie to them" (No les mientas), "Don't be selfish" (No seas egoísta), "Escúchalos"(Listen to them), "Borrow them epass money" (Prestales dinero en epass - If you want to be my friend) and so on...

why don't you write what you think you need i plain English and then ask for help to translate it instead of asking for the answer AND the translation?
