dont know... cleaner work well with avi file...
But im now trying to encode a MPEG1 file to wmv ... and getting no sounds!! WTF!!

Can you take a mpeg file and compress it to a wmv file with VirtualDub?

I'm still stuck on the project of making 20mb 1+min mpgs into smaller 5-6mb files...

exactly my situation!
And for weird reasons... with Cleaner 5 , I get no sound when compressing a mpeg to wmv...

have you tried Cleaner 5 ?

not yet, won't buy a 500 buck program 'just to see' if it's worth a shit ;)

if I can figure a way to compress these badboys with a combo of virualdub & TMPGEnc then I'll be one happy mofo....

I'm still digging around online for some decent how-to's on that...


if all else fails I'll break down and get cleaner5....but until then I'm just asking a few questions and getting a feel for who's using what and what works best...
