    SiteDepth Question

I am wondering if I can set up SD this way.

Every week I set the updates for that week, 5-10 whatever. After that week is over, those updates disappear back into the archive, and next week another 5-10 new, and so on.

So instead of a rolling year, you do a rolling week.

    Possible?

I sent e-mail to lil O and had not heard back.

While I am thinking of it, and if there is a SD guru, what is that streaming video option I just noticed a few months back in SD?

Are you able to not do streaming video like Zing proposes?

Yes you can do what you are talking about. When you are adding or editing your content you set the Start date and an End Date. If you leave the end date blank it will never expire.
As far as the streaming videos, you need to contact Omar about the details about setting up a symlink to get that done.

          Sweet. Thanks man.

I knew there was something for the year, but had never used it in that way.

Ah ok. Symlink is the Zing-CCB offer, or symlink is something that SD offers as a stand alone?

not sure that's what he is talking about. I know my way around Sitedepth pretty well.. but I think you want weekly content to be on the site then after that week it goes into a archive right?

Well this isn't the same thing and maybe I'm missing something here but why not just display on your members index the latest 5-10 galleries and clips and call your section for all galleries called archives?

My newest site on my members index I list the 5 newest picture sets, 3 newest vids, 5 next updates (non clickable) and 3 next vids

What I want to do is no archive (like a traditional member site).

5-10 clips for the week. Then gone. Like featured clips each week.

I may need a simple CMS that can do this with billing integrated the more I think about it. I want to designate a handful of clips for one week that are available for purchase. Then gone. The next week, a handful more.

Think along the lines of a clip store, but multiple clips.

Get used to sending emails or messages to them and not hearing back from a while, if at all. They are on my, 'do not use anymore no matter what' list.

ya you can do that easy with sitedepth just use the start ending dates..

But the 2nd part of your post I'm not sure how you would really do with sitedepth to display clips to sell

Normally I can get a hold of lil O if I need something. This is the first time I have had any type of delay.

Well, you could always do a 7 day membership I suppose.

I am kicking around some ideas, and right now trying to think out the logistics and CMS out there, plus what I am looking for in bare minimum for launch, and bigger pictures.

if you were looking to do a clips store I don't know if you've heard of this but it's worth a look and I think you can set things up to display in the future

Yep, looked at it. It is not what I am looking for. Thanks for the link though.

I am looking for something really simple.

                          1. I can upload all archives into the CMS.
                          2. I can allow 1/5/10 clips 'unlocked' for that week, and only that week.
                          3. No access to archive on the 'whole'.
                          4. Ability to buy multiple clips for 1 price point via Verotel/CCB. Like 5 for $15 or something to that effect.

That last part is where it can get tricky. I am not wanting to do a 1 week membership in traditional sense of rolling week. Whether they pay on Monday or Thursday. They get that one calendar week access to ALL clips available for that week.

Your ideas for sites and clip stores and the presentations they display are getting more and more complicated, bro!

Nah. Very simple actually. Just hard for me to explain as I am not a coder.

I talked to konrad this morning, and he more a less knows what I am looking for in regards to this site. It is all about capitalizing on current assets.

With different ideas and concepts, kinda hard to give enough info for the coders, and not too much so others rip off the ideas and try and beat you to the marketplace. I have a couple site concepts working on a similar platform, but looking to add in some varied complexity depending on the site.

Gotta stay ahead of the curve old chum.
