Firefox opens with same tabs

Every time I open up Firefox it loads up six tabs with various sites and I cannot figure out why. At one time I was looking at the six various sites, I must have closed it and saved it as some default setting but I cannot figure out how to undo it.

Anyone know how to clear this out? It's getting under my skin.

go to TOOLS --> OPTIONS --> MAIN --> STARTUP and you'll see a drop down menu for "When Firefox starts:" and you can customize it there
