I have an Asus 1000h . It's great. 160 gb hard drive, enough movies and tunes to keep me occupied at the most boring of places.

Bought one for my son and it's pretty convenient for him. He travels 5 hours between here and his moms so works well for that.

just got a Dell mini 9 and installed OSX on it.. works pretty ok.. not terrible fast but will order an extra 1gig of ram for it.. sure that will help

I have a Dell Mini 9 with 2 Gig RAM and I love it.

It is perfect if you are a regular traveller. I used to travel around with a notebook with a 15.4 inch display and there is no way I would ever go back to that.

The Mini 9 is small, light and powerful enough to do what I need it to do.

I sell them at work and have gotten to play with a few different ones. The Lenovo S10e ($349 just finished a sale at $299) is a nice unit. There Asus ones arent bad either, I sell them all the time.

They are usable if you want something to check forums, email.. basically if you use your iphone or palm to do things online but wish you had a bigger keyboard and screen then they are great. Dont expect to do graphics design or play intensive games on it.

I checked one out and it's cool, I think they are bit pricey for what you get considering a real laptop is only $80 more with a DVD drive, 2 gigs of memory and 15.4 inch screen.

They are way more portable than a laptop though, you can just put it in the sleeve behind your car seat or easily carry it with one hand, something that is a little awkward with a real laptop.

Where did I say I'd be using it all the time? I'm wondering more along the lines of whether the small screen would be too much of an annoyance trying to work from while out of town, which is what I'd use it for, or if it's better used to just putz around on. I'd like to be able to work from out of town without having to lug around a big laptop, but not sure if a mini would cut it.
