The forever ongoing GFY server problems

Right from the start I started coming here on GFY.COM I've experienced VERY slow server responds from the site on a random basis.. and from time to time the site simply isnt responding at all..

How can a site charging huge amounts of their advertising care so little about their server solution that nothing has been done about this issue for years..

Just got this baby when trying to view the frontpage 1 minute ago :

(Don't give me "Just go somewhere else" .. I'm just wondering why these servers haven't been upgraded yet.. it's not like it's a big thing)

When it does that I look at it as a signal that its time to check email or icq, check stats with whoever or work on all the random shit I have to work on.

I just started to believe it's all a SQL issue and they can't actually do anything about it.

Have a master and a slave server might do the trick. Standard setting in vB I believe.

Mayb. But a single server today can handle MASSIVE traffic (500k no problem)

And not very good servers. There's simply not enough traffic thrown at this board to warrant such a problem with servers.. Not even with the bots hitting the system 24/7.
