Disk Defrag Alternative??

Hi,

We need to defragment our HD, but this stuff usually takes over 3 hours, time we just cannot miss Sad but true...

Is there any GOOD alternative to the windows defrag method? Don't go smart on me telling me to 'format disk' or something, we need a good and faster way to clean up the dsik.

While I am at it, was there somebody here who knew how to get rid of the disabled internet options button in the MSIE browser?

Why not defrag after your done for the day, bedtime, etc...

Naughty, there's alot of things out there available to help clean things up, such as Microsoft RegClean. It's free and will help maintain your registry keeping it free from errors, but there's not much that's going to replace a defragmentation program except another defragmenter. Some claim to be faster than others, such as Norton, but I've never tried them.

The BEST thing you can do to cut down on your defrag time is to run it every single day. The more fragmented the drive is, the longer it will take. But if you run it every day, it should only take a minute or two.

Took WAY more than 10 hours to defrag my HD after 206 days without doing it till 100%. I think it was more like 15 hours.

i scan disked and defragged for the first time in about 8 months on this pc. scan disk took about 6 hours, and the defrag took another 9

Norton System Works 2001, it has more tools that are 1000% better to do all you need. Speed Disk, AV, Disk Doctor...

If you don't take care of your system and HD, you aren't much of a webmaster. Do you run your car with no oil? Would you fly in a plane thats NOT checked out before it goes up each time? Think about it.
