Need PhotoShop Plugin for image compression/optimization

I think I did not make the point I needed to. PS will save a photo for the web. And you can lower the quality of the image and that lowers the size of it. Weight size of the image as in 33k or 120k.

I am looking for a plugin that helps lower the weight 120k to 14k or what ever without loss of quality.

On a mac (And probably Windows- idk) you open a photo, set it for "record actions" - apply the settings you want - size, bit depth, color mode, - save that action and apply it to any folders you want to...
someone else can probably explain this better...

I like the fact that Windows has sweet freeware like "fast stone photo resizer" that will do it all for you toot sweet.

Why would you need a plugin to do something Photoshop has built right in to it (save for web and devices)?

That $50 piece of softare (which is no longer even available for purchase from the company) ain't going to do anything better.

there are plugins I have seen used that do an awesome job of editing the images down with little loss of quality.

I didn't know they weren't selling it anymore I have had it for years but it was called boxtop pro. I just search for boxtop pro on google and seen that link.

Yeah you can download it and it works pretty well. Might try buying it, but hope to find a freebe.

whenever there is compression there is a loss of quality. The best thing to do is add a stop in the action when you save for web so you can get the best quality at the lowest size possible. But if there is a plugin where you can set the size you want with the best quality available, I would like that plug-in as well!

I have seen some filters that make some great photos with awesome compression. But I dont know the names of them.

Yeah, it looked pretty ancient.

The review was from 2001 and you needed at least Photoshop 3.0 to use it.

I did a little searching and it seems there's a jpeg 2000 plugin as part of CS4.
