Design help

I'm busy creating a new site, and I wanted to get some opinions on what I have so far. What I'm thinking of right now is something along the lines of the link below, although that's merely a concept and would still need loads of work.

Thanks for the feedback. Right now I'm just playing around a bit, trying my first steps in designing, so I don't really need any help... just lots of time
