Server ?: granting write access to another webdir.

Hi does anyone know the proper way to grant full write access to another users web directory on a server? I'm trying to unlink files across two web directories but of course I'm receiving the Permission denied error.

i'm trying to avoid the ftp method since I have have a shit load of images and audio files being processed (edit, deleting, renaming, etc). FTP is just not that stable, atleast it hasn't been for me. I've had times where the ftp server didnt restart as it should. I just want to avoid all of that.
