Anyone knows if you can find Quake 1 somewhere..is it still playable in multiplayer?

I believe the demo is the free one. It has 3 levels, and you can use it for multiplayer games (games.msn.com).

I think they made it free a few years ago. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm almost positive that they released the full thing free to download (not warez)
Assuming we are talking about the original quake. You can find lots of OLD games now for free.

I guess I'm wrong. A little googling and all I found were patches, demo, maps ect..
They did release the source code, maybe this is what I got it mixed up with.

Nah thats like a patch for quake for openGL support. You need the original/demo to use that.

you might be able to play it on gamespy.....and a quake1 game can be bought for less than 10 from the store....

there are tons of quake servers. mainly quakeworld. quake will always live on

Yea, I don't think they've made it free, and I'm not sure if there are any more pro servers.

But, you can always use the demo for direct connect multiplayer.

Nothing better than a couple buds and a railgun.
