I'd say that Monty Python's Flying Circus is something that NEEDED to get out there so that a new generation could discover them. My 16 year old has no idea of who they are. And a 23,000 percent increase in sales probably meant they sold 23,000 products after a long dormancy of no sales.

It has absolutely no bearing on porn sales. I sure haven't noticed a 23,000 percent jump in sales over the last 2 years when torrents took off and started giving entire members areas away for free. Instead I've seen a DECREASE of 2/5ths across the board for every major affiliate program I push.

The author of that article proved himself wrong while trying to make his point.

Many publishers are happy to give away their product for free, but only under THEIR OWN conditions and that's exactly what Monty Python did. They asked Youtube to remove all the pirated content so they could control how their content was delivered and could profit from it via advertising.

Many television networks are giving their shows away for free a day after they air. Music labels are giving videos away for free and have played songs on the radio for decades at no charge. All they ask is that they can control where and when their products are given away and that's exactly what Monty Python did.

A big fail for the writer of that article who missed the point entirely.

Right on the money. It's a big difference to control and market as opposed to having someone else steal it and monetize it for their own personal gain.

For every 1 that manages to pull a little success out of something like this, there is 100 or 1000 that are losing money. Not to mention in a typical product, you end up trading dollars for pennies in most cases whenit comes to our type of product.

I'd say Monty Python is just getting a bump from people whom had never heard of it before or grew up with it and wanted to own the DVD's. I'd also bet they wern't making much sales because when was the last time you ever saw a MP DVD in a store for sale?
In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.

My father is a huge fan, he recorded as many episodes as he could. I will never forget how pissed off he was when he forget to record one..., and he almost got a heart attach when I gave him the DVD collection for Xmas some years ago. :D

I am sure all of us have at least a dozen favourite sketches, but the most amazing in MPFC is that WHEN they did these things. This is simply incredible if you imagine.

And for me the most important in this project is Terry Gilliam for sure, as he is my Personal Acid Prophet. ;)

John Cleese has a serious amount of DVD's out for his management course, I do not know if they are available in the US but in Europe there are sold many, many, many copies.

About a favourite MP guy that would be too hard, say I really enjoy John Cleese, that guy really can handle just about any role.

I'm gonna start to have to do some regular airing again.
