thanks for the reply.
I was already considering this firewall, but I got mixed feelings after I've read the user opinions at download.com ( some ppl complaining that their compuiters crashed after using this product ). Do you use it?
It's cheap for me. Everytime I smell a conspiracy taking place, I quickly shut off my computer, put on my tin-foil hat and assume the fetal position in the bath tub for up to 3 hours at a time.
Zonealarm Pro -- Security analysts say it's the worst software to come to the consumer market in terms of firewall protection, but it works fine for me.

Never use a software firewall for windows. They are all shit, and will eventually fuck up you computer. Both ZoneAlarm and the McAfee one caused me to have to reformat my disk and reinstall the OS.
The exception is the free one that comes with Windows XP. Not too bad.
Invest $39.99 instead in a hardware firewall/router instead.

I've heard ZA made fun of too, but those doing the scoffing never seem to explain exactly what is wrong with it. Any idea? I can't imagine the average home user would enounter much that ZA won't protect against.
Sure its not going to stop a distributed DOS attack, but how many home users are going to experience that?
The official site is down, cause Symantec stopped developing Atguard, the former Release of Symantecs Firewalls.
Imho atguard is still the best Firewall on the Market for a Workstation. If you need a professional solution buy yourself a router or code your own linux-firewall.
