Google facing privacy backlash -- search engine IxQuick.com being touted

Was just listening to the radio and they were talking about how google is so pervasive and how as more goes online they keep track of everything you do and everything you read.

They were then touting an alternative search engine that is promoting itself as a better privacy alternative to google, in that they do not keep any of your search data referenced to you.

haven't checked it out yet myself, but the search engine is IxQuick.com


edit: I see that that search engine just uses info from other search engines, I wonder what the gimmick of privacy is all about then, are they claiming that they shield you from the search engines themselves?

average person gives a rats ass about google tracking data. I personally do not give a shit either and I am typically pretty private.

don't really like the result listings, it's hard to differentiate between description and url. Also the visited link color is terrible, pale light blue on a white background?

So basically their cookies expire in 48 hours? Big deal. People who care can clear their own cookies. The name sucks and the results interface sucks. I tink i'll stick to google.
