WP 2.7 = Crappiest admin layout ever!

I updated a few blogs to wordpress 2.7 and have to say... This new admin layout looks like complete and utter crap! IMHO of course...

I have some 2.5 or whatever the fuck it is and want to downgrade to an older version.. I don't like any of them from 2.5 up

Maybe someone third party will release a new Admin setup, like there have been in the past.

The problem with that is WP is increasingly targeted for attack, simply because of its popularity as a publishing platform. Google has been issuing warnings about compromises and both it and WP state that the upgrades include important security patches.

If you have an older version, your server may be currently compromised without your knowledge, pumping out spam emails behind your back, for example...

I had that same error. Here's the fix (as I found on Google):

That error is thrown by PHP and likely you will need to contact your host to have them specify a temporary directory (e.g. upload_tmp_dir in php.ini)

That fixed it on my server.

The new admin is definitely a lot more ergo friendly, everything should be no more then a click or two away from any page.

I've found it to be a lot quicker once I got used to it.

Somehow that layout is supposed to make your world easier...

On the right the menus open up with more options without reloading the page... But then... they could have also done that with the old layout...

The dates are now on the far left. I have 24inch monitors so they are not about... hold on.. going to measure this shit.. 11.5 inches away from their old location. I have 15 blogs in tabs per window so the windows are opened full width. This makes it so quick glancing for the last date posted over each tab is a bitch... I preferred it to be closer to center.

For the most part I need NOTHING on that page except for the date... But occasionally I DO need to know that I forgot tags or categories... so I cannot just remove that column... They should let me arrange them in the order I want them in.

yes, I know I can do this by editing the files in the admin directory but each time I update I will have to edit them again...

Basically nothing is in the same spot it once was. Why someone thought this was a great idea I do not know.

While the bulk actions have improved, they completely fucked up everything else.
