    Recovering Data

    Ok,

    I am having a crisis.

I have 3 HD's, my OS drive, the Porn Drive, and the Personal/Non Adult Drive.

Well, the Personal/Non Adult Drive went belly up on me, last night, just as I was getting ready to back the whole thing up.

Im fucked, unless someone knows of a way, I can get data from it. Win2K keeps telling me the drive needs to be formatted, and when I try to access it through DOS I get a Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)

I need to get the data off of this drive. it has my mainstream non adult biz portfolio on there, and a bunch of work I have been doing.

Anyone know a way I can get the data back?

If your using fat 32 or fat 16 you have a chance.

if you use NTFS your fucked.

Unless the data is there, your Partition table or the MBR is fucked.

can you see the files in that hard drive when you are in dos format?

I just found some software called GetDataBack, they claim it can pick data back up even through a format.

It only costs $69 and I am playing with the trial right now to see what I can and can't do.

            Also, it's a FAT32

            Ill let you know.

              Alright.

              GetDataBack is the shit.

It recovered everything I needed (I have on bad sector on the drive, and nothing was there that was important)

Im in the process of bringing it over to a seperate USB Drive, and I Will then scan it for virii and then burn it to CD.

I will then take a hammer to this drive.

              Anyway, thanks for the help
