This is an age old question I have seen asked more times than I have been asked by you guys to see my tits, and I'd like to touch on this a bit, maybe even rant a bit if you will allow me to do so.
Which sites convert the best is a very wide ranged question with a not so simple answer to some people. Which sites convert best for ME is a better question and only you can answer this question and you do this by trial and error. You can't come in and ask a question about how it converts for someone else because it won't always convert best for one as it does for another. For example, I can take a site that someone else has converted at some insane ratio of 1:50 or something and run it myself and it may or may not convert the same based on MY OWN marketing abilities or my style of promoting the sites. Mine may convert better or it may not convert at ALL!
Now, you would be better off coming in here and asking which sponsors are more reliable, which ones will treat me best, which ones will pay me on time, which ones will go above and beyond to help me if I need help to convert their sites/programs the best way I can based on my traffic?
If you have a company that can answer and DO all of those things with you then you are good and your conversions will far outweigh trying to promote something the next guy is making a killing from..... you will be converting YOUR traffic the best way you can based on your OWN traffic and your OWN style. Styles are almost like fingerprints, each person has a different style and a different method to what works for them.
I am talking to you as a Rep AND as a webmaster, I have been and AM both. Myself? I can't convert a teen site to save my life, never have been able to in the 10 years I have been in this industry, so for me to come in here and ask which ones convert best is like shooting mysef in my own foot, because I know coming in that I can't convert it.... now give me just about any other niche out there and I can at least SOMEWHAT convert it, but not teens. I can HELP people and TEACH them, but I can't do it myself. Sounds funny, right? I know it does, but it is the god's honest truth. Take the Sologirl/Teen market for example, I have taught MANY MANY how to convert it, what the surfers want/expect in this area, but if I make a Sologirl Site, it wouldn't convert for ME worth a damn, but some of the ones I have helped to do this convert at as low as 1:50+, which is insane to me.... and I have to laugh because I can teach but I cannot do. lol
So bottom line, look for Sponsors willing to work with you, willing to sit down with you and willing to go above and beyond for and with you to help you convert your traffic BEFORE you come in and bash a sponsor and blame them because you don't convert THEIR sites as well as others...... what works for some may not work for you. Don't b e afraid to sit down with your Reps and talk to them, ANY Rep worth his weight will be willing to do this and if they are not then move on and don't use their programs again, it's that simple. We work for YOU, not vice versa, we are here to help YOU, and if we aren't then we don't deserve your time and we certainly don't deserve your business.
I am speaking as a rep, but also as a webmaster because I am and have been both for 10 years and this is one area I see that most drives me insane.... working TOGETHER is the only way to do GOOD business, so please keep this in mind. And please don't take this as me trying to promote anything, the ONLY thing I am promoting is GOOD COMMUNICATION between you and your sponsors/affiliates!!
Reps, DO YOUR JOBS, if they need help you cannot give them, then send them to someone that CAN give the the expert help that YOU don't exactly understand and then go and learn what they need so the next person that comes along with the same question, you will be able to better help them. Don't be afraid to say "I don't know", that affiliate is your gold, treat them as such!!
Affiliates, TALK TO YOUR SPONSORS!! How are they supposed to know you are having trouble if you don't communicate with them? They may have answers to your problems that may help you with your situation, since all of our situations are different.
COMMUNICATION IS KEY... and without it, we all may as well go back to bed and forget about making money together. ;) Call me crazy, but don't tell me I am wrong here, because I know I am not.

Oh yeah, and now...... sponsors, do what you came in here thinking you can do. Tell me and others WHY they should use your programs? But don't bullshit us, don't say you are here to help them if you are not willing to miss a meal if needbe, or you are afraid you will miss a party..... don't tell them to contact you unless you are willing to take the time for them. And affiliates, don't contact your sponsors if you aren't willing to HONESTLY give them a shot and listen to what they have to say to you.
