      MPEG-2 is what DVD video is right? So when you rip a DVD it comes into your computer in MPEG-2 format? And the file size will be huge? Not as huge as an uncompressed AVI from a DV cam but still huge right?

      So do you convert the MPEG-2 into MPEG-1?

      Why not MPEG-2, file size considerations? Or something else that makes MPEG-1 the better choice.

        yes, mpeg2 is dvd. too large for web use.
