Flash Based Camcorders... need some help

Im looking to get one for my brother for his birthday, but Im on the fence between two types of models. One is the flip side LCD screen that looks more mini camcorder, and the other is the hand held model that is more of a cell phone type.

    LCD Flip Screen: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1204332008907

    Hand Held Model: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1210378341828

All the reviews Ive read are about the same (they think the $150 camera will produce a picture similar to a $1500 camera), but wasnt sure if anyone here had any personal experience with them. Ideally, it needs to work with a Mac and less than $250.

Both of those are pieces of junk. I've read the reviews on them personally and they all say "don't waste your money!".

Look them up on Engadget and see what the people there say.

The consensus is that if the lighting is anything less than perfect you will get the most crappy un-watchable video you've ever seen.

I was looking at a lot on bestbuy and circuit city's website and saw a little about that, but most people were complaining they could not shoot true 1080p video

I figured this would be something cool for him to use, but he would probably use it 50/50 inside and outside. still not sure what to get him for his birthday tho

Get him the new iPod Nano. I got one for my birthday and it's a fantastic little device. I'm quite happy with it.
