OK, how does a person in this industry go about getting a remote position with one of the adult industry companies? I do not want to do the sex side of it (i.e. phone sex, cam sex erotic writing or anything) I want to use my education and intelligence to better my bank account. Don't just say that you have the skills. Show people what you can do. In the context of the boards, make it a point to answer questions that you are knowlegeable about. Try to become an authority on something.
At the same time start networking. If possible attend the shows, atleast the ones that are local for you. Spend a little time on the boards, but don't let that interfere with work that is actually making you money.
Keep scanning the help-wanted ads, but don't limit yourself to adult oriented ads. Those tend to be more for content than webmasters/programmers. I can't speak for other companies but everyone we hire, we either already know or came from Monster.
