See, the problem I have with statements like this, and it's not just you nor the party of your preference, but for you to say that of Palin... if it were Biden or Obama, you would not feel the same way.

Hell, one of John Stewarts most popular web clips right now, even played on cnn, is that of some other guy attacking Biden of being mayor of the 151st biggest city or something, how that city is just not that big..... and then a little while later praising Palin for being mayor of a city with just 9000 people (because it's the biggest in Alaska).

If this were Obama/Biden, I know you'd be using it as a way to question them... to attack them. And that there'd be someone else following along with a statement very much like you just made.

The US just saddens me how divided it's become, that BOTH sides can use the same attacks and defences without even realizing just how hypocritical BOTH sides have become.

Highest position in Alaska... Do you really think that is a major achievement?

Lets look at it purely on a numbers stance.

Total number of registered voters in Alaska (approx.) 480,000 people.
About 25% Republicans. 15% non party. 37% undeclared. 15% Democrats, Leaving out the separatists, libertarian etc. That rarely cross lines.

Alaska has an average of about 51% registered voter turn out.

240,000 voters - 60,000 which vote party lines. Split the undeclared (odds are majority) add 88,000 more. 148,000 now. Already over 50% of the vote.

Of course fuck all of that and the individual numbers. She had to convince the majority of roughly 240k that she was the proper choice. That is not much of an achievement since most would never run for office anyways. It is about the same as winning a very small city as mayor, just assuming that city had a population that is paid by the state for the oil.

It's "Jon Stewart", it was Karl Rove, it was about Governor Tom Kaine of Virginia about the 105th largest city, Palin was the mayor of Wasilla which has a population of 6-7000, and no, its not the largest city in alaska.

With all due respect, again, to Governor Kaine, he's been a governor for three years. He's been able, but undistinguished. I don't think people could really name a big, important thing that he's done. He was mayor of the 105th-largest city in America. And, again, with all due respect to Richmond, Virginia, it's smaller than Chula Vista, California, Aurora, Colorado, Mesa or Gilbert, Arizona, North Las Vegas, or Henderson, Nevada. It's not a big town. If he were to pick Governor Kaine, it would be an intensely political choice, where he's said, 'You know what? I'm really not first and foremost concerned with, is this person capable of being president of the United States? What I'm concerned about is, can he bring me the electoral votes of the state of Virginia, the 13 electoral votes in Virginia?'
