Redirect 301 question

i got a folder with alot of the same galleries in a folder
eg

folder/1.html
folder/2.html
folder/3.html

and i want to send them to another site

is this right to put in .htaccess ??

Redirect 301 /folder/(.*)\.html$ http://www.newsite/folder2/index.html

i tryed it but it but it doesnt work
have i done something wrong ?
