Yes, custom is great when you are in need of special features or tweaks other commercial scripts dont have..

But what happens when a custom script is done by an idiot? is it still the best option?
I think a good commercial script has more advantages over custom..like,
better support, faster bug fixing, cheaper price to name a few.

What happens when the non-custom script was done by an idiot? And you are stuck with encoded sources so you can't fix any bugs or add anything yourself?

Agreed, however you must agree that given an idiot in both circumstances, the idiot-written custom script would be beneficial...

- You have all sources and can get another idiot to fix it
- Idiot providing support to 1000 clients will yield worse support service then idiot providing support to 20 clients

Socalkey, It sounds like you need a custom written script. To do 1,2 & 3 with TEVS would take a lot of code, pretty much a rewrite and then some. I wouldn't suggest it.

Because 99.9% of the time the surfer doesn't own the content they upload. Hence a tube site becomes full of stolen content. With a script like TEVS you know who your promoting and the content is legal because you have uploaded it or hotlinked it.

I use TEVS, but have used SmartScripts product in the past. I don't think you'd be hurting if you picked either of them.
