    Please recommend a printer/scanner combo

Anyone have any feedback on printer/scanner combos? Most also have a fax machine built in, but performance on that isn't a factor for me as I can't see myself ever using it. Any brands to avoid? I've always had terrible luck with printers so any help would be appreciated. Preferably something that won't cost an arm and a leg for ink refills...

I like the canon line personally. Any of the ones with individual ink tanks

I've had good experiences with basic Epson Stylus based all-in-ones, but you MUST keep using the fucking print heads or they dry up down in the feed tubes and its pretty much disposable at that point. Irritating as shit. Its almost as if they are designed to have a short life span.

If you don't need the color, just go with a laser and avoid that whole nightmare.

I had one of their printer-only units and I think that's exactly what killed it. I also had something similar happen with a cannon. I don't think I've ever had a printer last more than 6 months or so.
