    Apache running WHM/Cpanel

    Hi,

We have a server running apache with whm/cpanel....

EXIM was working and grinding like a mo-fo and tying up the processor like it was a 1996 P-100.

    So I turned off...exim....

My question...is there a way to use just one catch-all e-mail addy?
For any e-mail coming in to the server? on any of its domains/ips?

    THANKS GFY!

Well, I am not familiar with cPanel, but I would suspect that they must have that feature available. Or do you have root access?

In each account ( use your master pw to login ), you can set:

all unrouted emails ( such as [email protected] ) to :blackhole:

This settings routes all no good mail to to garbage.

Or you can set all unrouted emails to a specific email . Look into " set default address " .

            which way???

Would be nice if you would elaborate ....

unrouted emails to :blachole: are just discarded, not even bounced back ....

So, what is your miracle settings ???

I wouldn't recommend using a catch all for an entire domain. You will get so much random garbage sent to you. CPanel has a feature on there called BoxTrapper that works like a whitelist. It works pretty good.

You're being told "Don't do that" in so many words. No, there's no simple way to do that, and no, you don't want to do that. If you truly want to emulate that, create a catch-all address for each domain you want to support, and create a virtualmap to a single address.

Good luck not having /var, /usr/local, and CPU at 100%.
