TGP question

I haven't submitted much to tgp's but was wondering if it's a big no-no to submit a gallery on one domain but host the photos on another?

Some TGP scripts that check for this don't care if the other domain is yours or not - They'll just assume that you are hotlinking.

If a sponsor offers you to hotlink their photos, then why not save myself the bandwidth? Many sponors offers galleries, but those are only good for tgp owners, not us submitters. So I wanted to know if most tgp's would black list me if I subitted a gallery on my domain, but hotlinked to the sponosor content.

the TGP prolly won't care (i know i don't) but your sponsor will prolly not pay you on sales when they see the hotlinking - and trust me, they will know

i "hotlinked" a ND pic on GFY the other day and it got bounced to a 404 within about an hour... so it really doesn't work

Well, one sponsor I currently use, I hotlink their photos from their hosted galleries to a picpost (not tgp) that I own without problems... bummer tgp's don't allow frames

Yes, that's a immeture remark. I didn't ask for an oppionion regarding my content on my site(s). Kamilla36D has been my screen name and domain for Years and when signing up here long time ago I used it out of habit and so people who already knew me would know. I see all sorts of names here but only females are being bashed for theirs it seems.

Kamilla, I don't care if your gallery is hotlinking, but I do check my galleries regularly, and if one should load without pics or big red Xs where the pics are supposed to be, I delete that gallery.

Hey Tala and thanks - well, I haven't had a problem hotlinking a current sponsor but as posted above, tgp's do check for hotlinking so it's probably best not to - it was just an idea

Kamilla,

in general you should always host your pics on the same domain your galleries are on.

It MIGHT be considered hotlinking if they're not. Most TGPs use robots to check your gallery and even the slightest deviation from the norm will delete your gallery from the to-review list.

Your an ifriends camgirl, you wish to submit to tgp sites but since ifriends implemented a warning page that is server side you can not do TGP's for free off of them anymore.

So now your brain was thinking and you figure you could just host the images and such off of ifriends, which unfortunatly also sub hosts its images on another .ifriends server. Oh well huh.

Guess you got to stick with running those ifriends toplists and tricking the other hosts into sending you all of their traffic.
