XP Pro and Multiple NIC Interfaces

OK, I am moving to a place where I will have both Cable and ADSL
and two nics on my XP Pro box.

I only will want to use one connection at a time, so I will want to disable the NIC to the connection I am not using.

In Unix I would just ifconfig the interface that I am not using down. I am not so savvy with Windows...Can this be done and what is the best way to do it?

    Yeah,

Go into your network properties, right click on the NIC, and enable and disable as you like.

Or install a router to use both interfaces at the same time.

Control Panel-->Network Connections-->Right click on the NIC you want to disable and simply hit disable.

Trust me, if you can use unix...windows xp won't be too much of a bother.
