MAC users - - - inside real quick please

1. What do you use for ICQ?
there is just this old version that does not appear to let me categorize by GROUPS... and many other issues with it... its impossible to operate with this version.

2. Is there a way to "cmd-tab" or swtich between open BROWSER windows in SAFARI? not programs but browser windows.

I also use Adium for ICQ, AIM and Yahoo. It's the best choice for Mac users.

I hate it when i add a ICQ number in Adium it doesn't recover the contact's name..I have to fill it by hand...this pretty much sucks...

you don't need to use a plugin.

can do two things.

click on contact list and start typing a name, it will bring u to who's online.

or press apple key + d

which brings up new message and start typing in the name of who you're contacting, either by alias and it try to recommend as you type, or numbers.

I wanna SEE who i am adding..in ICQ you can as you see the alias right after you added the UIN.. in Adium you can't see shit.. so you add a number.. and left clueless about who you added..

Indeed. Usually I add the new contact then make a new conversation (apple-n) and paste the UIN once again. It opens up the conversation and from there I can look at the contact info.

Correct and Adium cant do that and it fucking sucks finding new contacts in a list of 600 others..i came to the point were i installed old ICQ just to add new contacts.

as a long term pc user (I use trillian on my pc) who has recently switched to mac, I'm going to chime in and say I fucking hate adium, for the reason listed in this thread - it doesnt bring up the users name(s). what good is this when I already have 700+ users already listed in icq? I log into adium on my mac and just get a list of numbers. worse than useless.

Luckily Trillian is working on a version for mac which is in alpha at the moment

I was doing that before, problem I had then was the offline users were in their own group category and the lists were not alphabetical, but now I got those 2 figured out so that search option works perfect for me.

Wait, have the view contact list settings set to by alias not username...

menu bar: view > contact name format > alias

then it should show you everyones nick instead of the icq numbers. you may need to reload it.

Any ADIUM user have problems with a delay in receiving or sending msgs?
I just had my first chat with someone on it and after awhile realized there is a delay in me either getting or sending out the msgs loll.

i have that on one of my ICQ's ... thought it could be the number itself since 2/3 work fine
